they call me an aardvark
but Im more like a bear
I have a long tail
and am fuzzy with hair

I have long, sharp claws
I eat termites and ants
I dont wear shoes and
I do not wear pants

my snout is long and
I have a sticky tongue
for tearing up ant beds
and eating their young

my ears are long
I look like a rabbit
sleeping all day, no
its not a bad habit

Ill grow to six feet
I stay to myself
I am too big to
put a shelf

I am not what you call
just an average pet
Im better off in the wild
for this you can bet

Im not too aggressive
Ill put up a fight
if I am cornered
alone, at night

you probably wont see me
unless its in a zoo
I live in the jungle
this much is true

next time you see
a termite or ant
think about the aardvark
but eat them, you cant

Ill say good bye
I must go to bed
I scavenge at night
keeping my family fed

I really am a funny looking creature!
